Message From the DDGM

My name is William Benjamin Webster, and I am honoured to serve as this year’s District Deputy Grand Master for Algoma East. My home lodge is Dyment Lodge.

I was born in Cochrane Ontario, after finishing school, I left the area for several years for employment, return to Cochrane in 1984 and meet my wife. In 1990 my wife’s employment brought us to St Joseph Island and have been there ever since.

This coming March, my wife and I will celebrate 40 years of marriage, We are blessed with two daughters and four grandchildren.

My Charity this year is Matthews Memorial Hospital on St Joseph Island. This cause is especially meaningful to me, as I have personally needed to use the hospital on several occasions. I am truly grateful to have such an important healthcare facility right here in our island community. Like many hospitals in rural communities, Matthews Memorial Hospital is always in need of support, whether for recruiting doctors, purchasing new equipment, or helping provide essential healthcare services to local residents.

I am hopeful that we will be able to hold several events throughout the year to raise funds and support this important cause.

I would like to sincerely thank everyone for their support throughout this endeavour, and I would also like to extend a special thank you to my District secretary, W. Brother Randy Bird, for his assistance.
