At this meeting we will be conducting an Empty Chair Ceremony to recognize those Veterans who have served our Country in times of war and peace some of whom have paid the supreme sacrifice.
A Most Sincere Thank You
Sincerest thanks are expressed to Bro. Monty MacIntyre for his most generous donation of a AED (defibrillator) to Lorne Lodge No. 622
A defibrillator is a device that applies an electric charge or current to the heart to restore a normal heartbeat. If the heart rhythm stops due to a cardiac arrest, also known as sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) a defibrillator may help it start beating again and save your life.
100th Anniversary Meeting
On Tuesday October 3rd, the Brethren of Lorne Lodge No. 622 conducted their regular meeting 100 years to the day of the first meeting back in 1923. We got the meeting underway with a fine Thanksgiving meal courtesy of W. Bro. Keith Travis and V.W. Bro. John McKnight. A great deal was accomplished during the meeting, but the highlight was the ballot for affiliation. Bro. Myles Goodwin from Terrace Bay Lodge No. 662 was balloted for and accepted as a member of Lorne Lodge No. 622. What made this so interesting was that Bro. Goodwin’s grandfathers and great grandfather are charter members of Lorne 622 and were in attendance at the first meeting of Lorne 622 back on October 3rd, 1923. this has been duly noted in the minutes.
